Didactic Group Therapy
In didactic group therapy, you sit in a structured teaching session where a clinician explains how addiction and mental health conditions actually work in the body and brain. We use these groups as a core part of your plan at Kade Behavioral, giving you information you can put to use.
How Didactic Group Therapy Works in Treatment
A didactic group session works like a small class. You sit with a handful of other clients while a licensed clinician teaches a specific topic, how cravings form in the brain, how anxiety feeds back on itself, what happens during withdrawal. You can ask questions. You take what applies to you and leave the rest.
Understanding the mechanics of addiction and mental health makes the work ahead less confusing. We fold these sessions into your wider treatment plan, and as you progress we adjust the topics to match where you are.
